Restorative Dentistry in New Westminster
At New West Dentistry & Implant Centre, we offer several restorative techniques to replace lost and severely damaged teeth. These solutions allow you to smile more confidently and protect your remaining teeth from damage.
Dental Bonding
Dental bonding is a procedure that uses a resin material that is applied to the surface of the teeth. Dental bonding is commonly used to repair decayed, chipped, or cracked teeth and to improve the appearance of discoloured teeth.
Dental Implants
If you have missing teeth, you might want to consider a dental implant. Unlike crowns and bridges that must be replaced over time, dental implants are a permanent tooth replacement solution.
All-on-4 Dental Implants
If you are concerned or self-conscious about missing teeth, all-on-4 dental implants might be a good solution for you. Much like dentures, these implants can be used to replace a single tooth or an entire row of teeth. However, unlike dentures, which are removable devices, all-on-4 dental implants are permanently fixed in the mouth.
Dental Bridges
Dental bridges are a restorative procedure that is used to replace a missing tooth. If there is a gap between two teeth, your dentist will use a traditional bridge that relies on two crowns attached to the teeth on both sides of the gap and hold a fake tooth in place. If the gap is in the back of the mouth, a single crown attached to one tooth holds the fake tooth in place.
Dental Fillings
If you experience dental decay and have cavities in your teeth, your dentist may repair your tooth by using dental fillings. It is important to get any cavities filled early, as holes in the teeth allow bacteria to enter the pulp inside the tooth, which may cause a serious infection.
Inlays and Onlays
Inlays and onlays are similar to dental fillings in that they are used to replace the damaged portion of the tooth. However, dental fillings that are created by your dentist using a soft composite material that is cured in the mouth, inlays, and onlay are made from porcelain and fabricated in the dental lab.
Dentures
Dentures are removable dental devices that are used to fill any gaps between the teeth. Custom-fit dentures can replace single or multiple teeth, including partial or complete rows of teeth, and are fabricated in a dental lab.
